Custom Liquor Cabinet

I took on a project that was a dream for any furniture maker: a custom liquor cabinet designed to perfectly complement a unique desk the client already owned.

To achieve this, I started by meticulously photographing all the design elements of the desk. Then, I used those photos to digitally recreate the patterns and features. With those digital files in hand, I programmed my CNC machine to route relief areas. Everything else was done on a miter saw and table saw.

But this wasn't just about replicating the desk's design. I wanted to create a truly unique piece that reflected the client's personality. So, before assembling the cabinet, I got to work on some special touches. First, I took high-quality planks of hard maple and carefully joined them together to create the larger panels I needed for the cabinet's frame.

Then came the fun part – personalization! Using a laser engraver, I etched logos onto specific sections of the cabinet. These logos represented the client's high school, college, military branch, and even their favorite houses from Game of Thrones! The final touches included custom-cut mirrors for a touch of elegance, integrated glass storage and an area for showcasing prized bottles in the doors, two humidors for keeping cigars fresh, utensil drawers for bar tools, and even large drawers to accommodate bigger appliances.

By the end of the project, I wasn't just handing over a liquor cabinet – I was presenting a one-of-a-kind piece that celebrated the client's personal style and offered a place to store and enjoy their favorite beverages and keepsakes.
