I graduated Class of 1992 from Army Navy Academy and always thought it would be cool to make the logo. A few hours 3D modeling and it came to life, digitally! I gifted it the school.
I glued up several pieces of Hard Maple after I ran them through the jointer. I used a 1/4 end mill to do the roughing passes and then a 1/4 ball nose to do the finish pass. Once sanded it was stained and taken to the school. They showed me where it is going to hang, in the main entrance to the gym, the centerpiece of the school.
